It’s never too early to start interviewing and reserve a good, trustworthy Newborn Care Specialist that will fit well within your family. Usually, parents like to have someone booked 3-6 months before their due date. Although, if you find yourself in a situation where you need some help on a short notice, feel free to call and see if I’m available.

That all depends on you and your family’s needs. You can just have someone come in for a week or two while you are recovering from childbirth or you can have them stay up to 12 weeks for complete infant care and sleep training. Some parents even book Newborn Care Specialists for the first 6 months if they have very busy lifestyles. There is at least a 3-day minimum.

The Newborn Care Specialist will come to your home shortly after the baby is born. She will discuss strategies and different techniques, troubleshoot problems, answer questions, and implement a customized sleep/feed schedule that best accommodates your family’s lifestyle. She can show you how to implement these techniques, guide you and even take over if you need respite. Most of all, she works with you, you will not have set methods forced on you. It will be your decision which method benefits you most. She will also assist in helping you determine the supplies that you will need and are most useful to help care for your newborn.
